Brothers Fernando and Francisco Asencio set about rescuing some of Jerez’s soon to be lost soleras. Bodegas Alonso, with the ancient soleras of Pedro Romero, Gaspar Florido and Fernando Mendez, is home to some exquisite sherries that are among the best in the world. All single barrel bottlings, there is a selection to choose from including Manzanilla, Amontillado, Oloroso and some spectacular Palo Cortados.
